Aitchisons Host Valuation Day               

Aitchisons office in Berkhamsted was recently the venue for a valuation day conducted by Charles Ross, Fine Art Auctioneers of Bedford.

The day was very successful, with Martyn Downer, formerly head of Sotheby’s jewellery valuation department, and David Fletcher, consultant and fine art valuer, able to give expert opinion on a wide variety of items. A number of people attended and all were delighted to be able to obtain a free evaluation of the objects they brought in.

As the afternoon came to a close, Martyn commended the day, being extremely pleased with response received. He stated that the office had been ideal for the event, being so centrally located and prominent within the town centre. He was keen to arrange for future valuation days to take place on a regular basis, two or three times a year.

The next likely date will be in September and will be advertised well in advance, giving plenty of time to enable people to dust off their heirlooms from the loft and retrieve the family jewels from the vaults!
