House Sales Raise Funds for Hospice of St Francis

13/11/2006

The Berkhamsted branch of Aitchisons, the residential arm of property group Aitchison Raffety, has donated £2,000 to the Hospice of St Francis appeal fund. The estate agency pledged to donate £100 to the Hospice from the sale commission of each house that they were instructed to sell during February and March of this year. Twenty of the houses went under offer and the sales have now finally completed, so a cheque for £2000 was presented to Penny Bird, head of the Hospice appeal fund.

Aitchisons has been very supportive of the Hospice Appeal and this latest tranche of money brings to over £30,000 the amount the firm has raised for the Hospice which is due to move to its new premises in early 2007. Previous fund raising activities have been the Buy a Brick appeal and the £1,000 donate a brick appeal.

The Aitchison Raffety Group’s involvement with the Hospice is ongoing and will be concluded shortly by the disposal of the present Hospice site for redevelopment. A successful marketing campaign which closed in mid October produced 34 offers for the land. The financial result and nominated party will be announced shortly once contract formalities are completed.
